MEETING MINUTES
OLD LYME INLAND WETLANDS AND WATERCOURSES COMMISSION
SPECIAL MEETING/SITE WALK
SATURDAY, APRIL 17, 2010
Robb Linde, Vice-Chairman, Evan Griswold, Dave McCulloch, Skip DiCamillo and Sabine O’Donnell met at 43-1 Saunders Hollow Road at 8:30AM.
1. 8:30 - 10-04- Donna Scott – 43-1 Saunders Hollow Road – Permit for
existing deck.
Commission members viewed the site. A Deck with stairs to the ground and a platform including hot tub were observed within 50’ of the wetland.
Action: Sabine O’Donnell will retrieve pictures from the previous site walk, Evan Griswold will retrieve pictures from the MLS so that the commission can get a full understanding of the before construction condition.
2. 8:45 – 10-05 – Joan Bozek and Robb Linde – 16 Mansewood Road – Repair
driveway and install catch basin.
Robb Linde recused himself and described the work to be done and showed commission members where the catch basin would be located as well as where the water would exit the drain and the location of the proposed level spreader and rip rap. As a note the commission also expressed concern about work done on a neighboring property apparently within a regulated area.
3. 8:40 – 10-07 – Scott Wisner – 9 Apple Tree Drive – Construction of a 16’ x 24’
single story addition
Commission members walked the site and observed the proposed location of the addition. The applicant stated that the deck would be replaced by an addition and the plan needed to be update to show a proposed future deck. The commission noted the very steep dropoff to the wetland 10’ drop over 50’ and the need to maintain that buffer. The applicant showed the location of proposed stockpiles and said that there could be some regrading of the yard to meet the foundation. The commission was concerned that the northerly stockpile was too close to the wetlands and asked that the all of the stock piles be limited to the southerly location. In addition the commission asked that the plan be updated to show the new proposed grading. The commission also expressed
concern about the spreading of grass clippings in the buffer area.
Meeting adjourned at 9:30.
